Treatment of psychological disorders in Ayurveda takes an expansive view of an individual’s physical, mental and spiritual status. The causes leads to be affected on Vata Dosha( one among the tridoshas, Vata, Pitta & Kapha, in Ayurveda ) specifically Prana Vata located in head, maintaining proper functioning of intelligence, brain , sense organs and mind, which gets aggravated with stress, depression and anxiety. The aggravated dosha generates the nervous tissue leading to mental imbalance.
Anxiety is a highly treatable condition. The main treatment principle includes balancing the aggravated Vata and more over nourishing treatments and improving Satva Guna (one of the trigunas or ‘modes of existence’) to increase concentration, stability and calmness of mind. Panchakarma treatments like Abhyanga, Shirodhra, Nasya etc along with Yoga & Meditations shows great results in such kind of conditions. This can also be attained by diet lifestyle management and intake of necessary medicaments. Get some health benefits of panchakarma.
The main treatment protocol of Ayurveda is to first identify the root- cause of the disease. In mental health, normally, Vata aggravation is marked by anxiety, Pitta aggravation marked by anger and Kapha aggravation by depression. Based on this a specific treatment schedule is designed, including Panchakarma therapies like Abhyanga, Snehapana ,Shiroabhyanga , Shirovasti, Shirodhara, Nasya, etc and internal medications.
Yoga is that which helps to draw your-self attention, particularly when you do breathing exercises. At the same time different asanas and postures helps to relieve excess doshas and calm the nervous system. When you practice meditataion regularly you experience a deep sense of peace. Ayurveda and Yoga can be a useful weapon to help you face your fears, guide you back to your true nature, and heal your life. You can also checkout the yoga poses for better digestion.
